Job summary

Hawkstone Search is seeking an experienced attorney for a high-value commercial real estate litigation role with an Am Law 100 firm. The position offers substantive case responsibility, direct partner exposure, and growth within a nationally recognized real estate platform.

Ideal candidates will have 4–10 years of real estate litigation, NY bar admission, and strong drafting and negotiation skills. You will manage disputes, conduct discovery, argue motions, and collaborate closely with partners

Responsibilities

• Handle complex commercial real estate disputes across asset classes
• Manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and oversee day-to-day case management
• Draft and argue motions, prepare pleadings, and produce high-quality written work
• Collaborate directly with partners on strategy and high-value matters
• Engage with clients, opposing counsel, and co-counsel while driving cases from early stages through resolution
• Advise on rights and recourse under leases, licenses, purchase and sale agreements; negotiate and draft amendments and modifications

What You’ll Be Doing

• Handle complex commercial real estate disputes across a range of asset classes
• Manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and oversee day-to-day case management
• Draft and argue motions, prepare pleadings, and produce high-quality written work product
• Collaborate directly with partners on strategy and high-value matters
• Engage with **clients, opposing counsel, and co-counsel** while driving cases from early stages through resolution
• Advise on rights and recourse under leases, licenses, purchase and sale agreements, and related contracts; negotiate and draft amendments, extensions, and modifications as needed

What They’re Looking For

• 4–10 years of commercial real estate litigation experience (or strong commercial litigation experience with meaningful real estate exposure)
• Experience preferred in landlord-tenant litigation, license/access agreements, construction contracts and litigation, development agreements, contract disputes, and co-op/condominium litigation
• Strong research, writing, and academic record
• Experience evaluating client rights under leases, licenses, and purchase/sale agreements; negotiating/drafting amendments and modifications a plus
• Corporate and shareholder dispute experience a plus
• New York bar admission required
