Dwight Capital LLC is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join our Legal Department in New York City. You will support financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions, negotiating loan documents and managing outside counsel.
The role requires a NY-licensed attorney with 4+ years in commercial real estate financing and related areas. The ideal candidate will be proactive, meticulous, and able to coordinate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams across accounting, IT,
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in New York.
- 4+ years in real estate financing transactions.
- Experience with REITs or warehouse lines preferred.
- Experience with loan syndications and healthcare assets preferred.
- Experience with acquisitions and dispositions preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with real estate financings, acquisitions, and dispositions.
- Negotiate joint ventures and loan documents with lenders and partners.
- Advise on litigation avoidance and risk with outside counsel.
- Coordinate with CEO, CFO, COO and other departments on legal matters.
- Draft agreements for development projects and manage vendor contracts.
- Manage litigation with outside counsel and report updates.
- Oversee employment law matters with HR.
- Ensure compliance with real estate policies and local laws.
