A law firm in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in real estate finance law with a proven track record of handling complex commercial real estate transactions. The role requires exceptional academic credentials, large law firm experience, and excellent writing and communication skills. Experience in loan origination, asset management, and workout scenarios, especially for mezzanine loans and preferred equity, is highly valued. The successful candidate will manage transactions from inception through closing and post-closing, including secondary market repurchase facilities and other exit strategies.
Duties:
- Represent lenders in large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
- Manage transactions from inception through closing, including post-closing activities.
- Handle secondary market repurchase facilities and develop exit strategies.
- Oversee asset management and workout scenarios.
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents and related agreements.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on real estate finance matters.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Prepare detailed reports and correspondence for internal and external use.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and market trends affecting real estate finance.
Requirements:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- 3+ years of broad real estate finance experience, preferably in a large law firm environment.
- Demonstrated experience in loan origination work, particularly in large structured commercial real estate transactions.
- Proven track record of managing transactions from inception to closing and post-closing.
- Experience with secondary market repurchase facilities and various exit strategies.
- Experience in asset management and workout scenarios is preferred.
- High level of academic achievement and solid large law firm experience.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the Bar in Delaware or willingness to obtain.
