Job summary

Landing Point, a global real estate private equity and investment management firm, seeks a Project Accountant in New York to manage day-to-day accounting for development projects. You will handle budgets, invoicing, cost tracking, and month-end close using Yardi and Excel.

The role requires 2–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong GAAP knowledge with budget and reporting experience. Salary ranges from $95,000 to $120,000 plus bonus, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience; real estate, development, construction, or property accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with development budgets and construction/lender draws preferred.
• Yardi experience preferred; strong Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project budgets, commitments, and related financial information in Yardi.
• Review and code invoices to the appropriate contract, cost category, and accounting period.
• Monitor actual and committed costs against budget and identify variances.
• Prepare and submit lender and other capital-source draws, including required supporting documentation.
• Reconcile funding receipts, disbursements, outstanding invoices, and related general ledger activity.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for assigned development projects.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other month-end close workpapers.
• Develop a strong understanding of assigned projects and proactively communicate significant issues.
• Participate in project meetings and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Look for opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve recurring accounting and reporting processes.
