Job summary

Mortenson is offering a summer internship in Minnesota designed to provide hands-on experience early on. You’ll work with project teams across development, finance, and operations to advance opportunities from pre-development through disposition, while learning industry best practices.

You’ll perform underwriting support, market research, and financial modeling, contributing to real-world investment decisions. The program runs May–August 2027 and pays an hourly wage starting at $18.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Undergraduate junior status preferred.
• Basic understanding of construction and business practices.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills; initiative and leadership.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate across property types including medical office, multifamily, hotel, industrial, and land.
• Prepare information memoranda for investors and lenders.
• Research markets identifying macro/microeconomic drivers and demographics that impact real estate investment strategies.
• Support due diligence from pre-development through disposition.
• Develop financial models to support credit analysis.
• Assist financing strategies of potential capital market activities.
