Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Development Intern to work with seven regional offices on development and acquisition opportunities across multiple asset classes. You’ll assist with underwriting, valuations, and financial modeling while learning from a seasoned team in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

This Summer program (May–August 2027) emphasizes hands-on experience, collaboration, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
• Preferred internship experience.
• Undergraduate junior status.
• Basic understanding of construction and general business practices.
• Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, initiative and leadership.
• Positive, professional attitude and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate across multiple property types including medical office, multifamily, hotel, industrial, and land assets.
• Prepare information memoranda and materials for investors and lenders.
• Research markets by identifying trends and drivers affecting real estate investments.
• Support due diligence from pre-development to disposition.
• Develop and implement financial models for credit analysis.
• Contribute to financing strategies of potential capital market activities.
