Job summary

Oaktree is seeking an Associate to join its Real Estate team in Los Angeles. The Associate will participate in a wide range of real estate debt transactions, including new loan originations, acquisitions of legacy loans, CMBS and other forms of public and private debt, restructurings and recapitalizations.

Responsibilities include leading underwriting and closing efforts, preparing detailed financial models, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, due diligence, deal structuring,

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as an analyst or associate with a top investment bank or real estate investment fund.
• Outstanding financial modeling, analytical and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting and closing efforts on real estate debt transactions.
• Prepare detailed financial models and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Develop and maintain due diligence and deal documentation; participate in structuring and negotiations.
• Draft memoranda for internal/external use; present deals at credit committees.
• Collaborate with equity coverages and junior resources; monitor portfolio performance.
