Job summary

Greystone is seeking a Real Estate Counsel in Boston to support Greystone Real Estate Advisory Group serving MBTA and MassDOT. The attorney drafts and negotiates leases, licenses, easements, deeds, and development agreements, ensuring public procurement compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from an ABA-accredited school with 3+ years in commercial real estate, including leasing and conveyancing, and possesses strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3+ years’ experience in commercial real estate, including leasing and conveyancing.
  • Experience with public entity clients is a plus; knowledge of Massachusetts public procurement laws preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate leases, licenses, easements, deeds, development agreements and other real estate documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts public procurement laws.
  • Coordinate closings and prepare transaction summaries.
  • Assist staff with correspondence and conduct legal research as assigned.

Our office is located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston one block from the Transportation Building. **About the Position**: We are seeking an attorney to fill the Real Estate Counsel position for our Boston based team which focuses on providing real estate services to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). The Real Estate Counsel drafts and negotiates leases, licenses, easements, deeds, development agreements, and other real estate documents. This position also ensures public procurement law compliance, coordinates closings, oversees the preparation of transaction summaries, assists staff with correspondence, performs legal research and other duties as assigned. **Requirements:** Juris Doctor (from an ABA-accredited law school) with 3+ years’ experience in commercial real estate, including leasing and conveyancing. Experience working with public entity clients a plus and working knowledge of Massachusetts public procurement laws preferred. **Who you are**: You are an organized, detail-oriented attorney with excellent verbal, written and intercommunication skills and an interest in commercial real estate and the public sector.
