Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a paralegal to support the Real Estate and Transactions Teams within MUHA. The role reports to the Director of MUHA Legal Affairs and the MUSC General Counsel, handling real estate leases, purchases, corporate formations, and strategic transactions.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in high-volume real estate matters, with strong drafting, negotiation, and review skills, plus excellent communication and ethics

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys and senior staff within the Office of General Counsel in preparing and reviewing contracts, leases, loan documents, disclosures schedules, and title documents for real estate and business assets.
Organizing, reviewing and analyzing legal documents and due diligence materials; preparing and organizing legal documents and processing approvals and signatures for transaction closings; master cutting edge software/workflow processes.
Conducts research regarding routine legal questions as requested by attorneys; coordinates between the legal department and other health system departments; maintains electronic files to track legal or risk issues.
Administrative responsibilities including scheduling, telephone support, mail processing, procurement of supplies and services, reviewing accounts payable, etc.
Performs various legal support tasks and coordinates service and/or acceptance of documents in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned and provide guidance under supervision on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.
