Job summary

CFS, based in Houston, is seeking a Controller for its Real Estate division (Manufactured Housing / Land Lease Communities). The role supervises the accounting function, enhances controls, and partners with senior leadership on financing, development, and investments.

Qualifications include CPA and 8+ years in real estate accounting, plus experience with JV waterfalls and debt-related accounting. Yardi or Rent Manager proficiency is required; lead an expanding accounting team and drive scalable

Qualifications

CPA required.
8+ years of real estate accounting experience (multifamily, homebuilding, manufactured housing, or land lease communities).
Strong experience with JV waterfalls, capitalized interest, and debt modification accounting.
Yardi or Rent Manager experience required.
3+ years of accounting leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Manage cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, and investor distributions.
Review JV agreements, loan documents, and funding requests.
Handle lender/investor reporting, debt modifications, and capitalized interest accounting.
Maintain internal controls and supervise accounting staff.
