Job summary

Confidential Employer in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking an attorney to supervise residential real estate closings and counsel clients through transactions. This full-time, in-person role requires a J.D.

and an active SC Bar license; commute daily to the Columbia office and occasional travel to Sumter as needed with mileage reimbursement. You will have autonomy to grow your practice, develop lender and referral relationships, and participate in marketing and business development initiatives,

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active and valid South Carolina Bar license.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client-service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines.
• Residential real estate closing experience preferred but not required.
• Title review and title curative experience preferred.
• Experience with lenders, real estate agents, and brokers is a plus.
• Estate planning, estate administration, probate, or business formation experience is a plus.
• Attorneys from firms, in-house environments, or solo practices may be considered if collaborative and communicative.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residential real estate closings from start to finish.
• Review and assist with deeds, powers of attorney, corporate resolutions, affidavits, and other closing documents.
• Analyze title issues, contract questions, and drive resolution.
• Provide practical legal guidance to clients throughout real estate transactions and closing procedures.
• Communicate with buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, brokers, and internal staff.
• Develop relationships with lenders, agents, brokers, clients, and referrals.
• Participate in networking, marketing, and business development initiatives.
• Travel occasionally for closings, meetings, and events with mileage reimbursement.
• Build an additional complementary practice area such as estate planning or business formation.
