Our client is a well-established, mid-sized New York law firm with a strong reputation in real estate and related transactional work. The firm represents sophisticated owners, developers, lenders, investors, and institutional clients across a wide range of commercial real estate matters. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney with a focus on financing and/or transactional work to join its New York office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least five years of experience who is looking to take on greater responsibility, work closely with partners, and potentially grow into a counsel-level role within a collaborative, specialized practice.

Base pay range

$200,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate finance transactions, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction loans
• Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and development matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents, purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, leases, and related transactional documents
• Conduct due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, and organizational review
• Coordinate closings and manage transactions from inception through closing
• Advise clients on structuring, risk allocation, and deal strategy
• Work directly with partners and clients, with increasing responsibility and autonomy over time
• Mentor junior attorneys as appropriate

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York and in good standing
• 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate financing and/or transactional work at a law firm
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skillsExperience handling complex, multi-party transactions
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Candidates at the senior associate or counsel level are encouraged to apply
