Job summary

Hawkstone Search is assisting a global AM20 law firm in recruiting a Real Estate Associate for its New York office. The practice covers acquisitions, financings, development, land use and affordable housing, offering exposure to a premier, diverse platform on a global scale.

The candidate will handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, with leasing and development work. A minimum of 3 years’ experience, strong academics, and NY Bar admission are required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of real estate transactional experience.
• Strong academic credentials from a top-ranked law program.
• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Admission to the New York Bar or eligible to obtain admission promptly.

Responsibilities

• Work on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, lending and joint ventures.
• Gain exposure to leasing, construction, development, land use and entitlements matters.
• Advise landlords and tenants on complex leasing matters such as build-to-suit leases and ground leases.
• Collaborate with tax, finance and M&A teams on sophisticated deals.
• Take meaningful responsibility with direct client and senior-lawyer exposure.

I'm currently assisting a global AM20 law firm in their search for a talented Real Estate Associate for their NY office. The firm’s Real Estate Group advises on a broad range of sophisticated transactions, from acquisitions and financings to development, land use and affordable housing work, offering associates exposure to a genuinely diverse practice on a premier global platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, lending and joint ventures
• Gain exposure to leasing, construction, development, land use and entitlements matters
• Advise landlords and tenants on complex leasing matters, including build-to-suit leases, sale-leasebacks and ground leases
• Act for a diverse client base of REITs, pension funds, opportunity funds and financial institutions, working alongside the firm’s tax, finance and M&A teams
• Take meaningful responsibility with direct exposure to clients and senior lawyers across all stages of complex deals

What They’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of real estate transactional experience in one or more of the following: acquisitions, dispositions, lending, joint ventures, leasing, construction, development, land use, entitlements and/or LIHTC transactions
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly)
