Job summary

SVA is seeking a Supervisor to join our Real Estate Accounting team in Madison, WI. The Supervisor will lead larger, more complex assurance and tax engagements for affordable housing and real estate clients, including LIHTC entities, directing engagements and serving as the main client contact.

The role emphasizes leadership of junior staff, development of staff, and ensuring quality work papers and financial statements, while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to SVA policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public accounting required, with LIHTC/real estate exposure preferred.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of partnership taxation and real estate reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete all aspects of assigned audits, reviews, returns, and/or compilations.
• Study and evaluate internal controls and time budgets for engagement efficiency.
• Review financial statements and discuss findings with client and In-Charge.
• Lead client meetings and assist with monthly billings as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to SVA policies and procedures.
• Support a 55-hour workweek during busy season and 40-45 hours in non-busy season.
