Job summary

Alexandria Real Estate Equities is seeking an accountant to broaden expertise across property accounting, real estate development, acquisitions, SEC reporting, tax and other corporate functions. You will support close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations while collaborating with multiple teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in a related field, at least 3 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills; CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred. Yardi experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Master's degree in related field is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Property Accounting: month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet and income statement preparation, CAM and bank reconciliations.
• Real Estate Development: project setup, construction accruals, WIP transfers and reporting.
• Transactions: purchase accounting, sale analysis and settlement statement review.
• SEC Financial Reporting: ad-hoc analyses, data mining for quarterly earnings and external reporting.
• Tax: assist with tax compliance reporting and REIT analysis.
• Other accounting groups: support Lease Accounting, Fixed Assets, Treasury, AR/AP with ad-hoc projects.
