Job summary

Superior Ready Mix is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver to transport freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to job sites in a safe manner. The candidate should have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Must have current Commercial Class A or B driver's license with air brakes and tank endorsement.
• Previous ready-mix driving experience required.
• Safe driving record (DMV H-6) with limited violations in past 36 months; no serious moving violations past 3 years.
• Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate.
• Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites.
• Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws.
• Clean and wash vehicle and remove concrete buildup on exterior parts.
• Work according to customer demands.
• Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel.
• Adhere to safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations.
• Report all incidents/injuries to management.
• Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management.

The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. REquirements

Education:
High School Diploma/GED

Qualifications:
Must have current Commercial Class A or B driver’s license with air brakes and tank endorsement

Previous ready-mix driving experience required

Safe driving record (will have to provide DMV H-6 printout) - no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months

Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate

Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions

Must have familiarity with slumps

Good attendance and punctuality a must

Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather

Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears

Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations

Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be required

Preferred:

Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries

2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
