Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Ready-Mix Plant Manager to oversee production, operations and site facilities. You will work with batch personnel and drivers to ensure safety, quality, and efficient performance while meeting customer specifications.

The role involves planning and budgeting, equipment utilization, environmental compliance, and personnel management across multiple shifts. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive improvements and cost control.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience running a ready-mix operation and related duties.
• Experience with OSHA/MSHA regulations and DOT requirements.
• Experience managing multiple locations and driver training programs.
• People management experience including hiring, reviews and discipline.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems; proficiency with MS Office.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Customer service orientation and ability to engage with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, cost control & maintenance.
• Establish and monitor a production plan with accurate cost/inventory data.
• Document production statistics and prepare reports/analysis.
• Oversee mobile equipment and capital/operating budgets.
• Develop plans for improved performance and lower costs.
• Ensure quality processes deliver a quality product to customers.
• Lead OSHA/CalPortland safety activities and training; enforce safe behaviors.
• Collaborate with other departments on safety, environmental, quality & materials.
• Manage personnel and development; engage local community relations.
