As a Ready Mix Driver, you will operate a ready‑mix truck to load, transport and unload ready‑mixed concrete at various locations while practicing proper traffic, site and delivery safety procedures. You must display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members, provide excellent customer service, and be knowledgeable about material properties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs.
- Daily maintenance of equipment.
- Drive a truck equipped with an auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.
- Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
- Clean and maintain the truck.
- Ensure proper loading and adjusting of ready mix to the proper slump.
- Make contact with the customer on the job site for unloading instructions and secure signature on the load invoice.
- Ensure proper use of truck tracking software.
- Work independently without direct supervision.
- Report information accurately and completely on daily time cards and other required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high‑stress situations. Be self‑motivated, a team‑player with strong interpersonal skills; maintain positive customer relations and act courteous and respectful of others.
- Maintain proper information in the truck cab and perform daily housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations, including attending required training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A CDL Class B license or higher with at least two years of truck‑driving experience.
- Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights, and some Saturdays.
Compensation
$29.00 – $35.00 per hour, depends on experience.
