Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver to transport freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to job sites safely, with normal operating adjustments as needed. The role emphasizes a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, safe operation of a multi-axle mixer truck, and adherence to safety regulations. A High School Diploma/GED is required along with a Commercial Class A or B license, DOT medical card, and

Qualifications

• Must have Commercial Class A or B driver’s license with airbrakes and tank endorsement.
• Safe driving record with no serious moving violations in the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations in the past 24 months.
• Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate.
• Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions.
• Good attendance and punctuality a must.
• Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather.
• Must have the physical ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends and nights.

• Clean and wash vehicle to remove concrete buildup on exterior parts

• Report all incidents/injuries to management promptly
• Attend safety meetings as scheduled

Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.

Compensation

$20.00-$40.50 per hour | DOE

• Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management

Requirements/Qualifications

• Must have currentCommercial Class A or B driver’s license with airbrakes and tank endorsement
• Safe driving record- no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
• Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
• Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions
• Good attendance and punctuality a must
• Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
• Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears
• Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be required

Preferred:

• Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
