Position Overview

The Ready-Mix Concrete Driver position is responsible for transporting ready-mix concrete to construction projects and various customers. This skilled role involves the safe and efficient operation of ready-mix concrete trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prioritize personal safety and uphold high safety and quality standards.
• Ingress and egress of the truck by navigating 2 steps with grab bars.
• Manipulate truck steering wheel (power steering), shifter, and other controls necessary for operation.
• Operate the ready-mix concrete truck to deliver to sites safely and efficiently, obeying laws and dispatch instructions.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding deliveries and check for special instructions.
• Climb 8–12-foot ladders to ensure proper loading and obtain signatures.
• Handle 50-pound mixer chutes safely and dump slurry as per procedures.
• Address customer questions related to products and concrete instructions.
• Monitor gauges during vehicle operation.
• Maintain logs, forms, and records per company and DOT regulations.
• Report problems or repairs, and detect faulty equipment or conditions to supervisors.
• Keep work area and vehicle clean and orderly.
• Ensure product quality before leaving plants and en route.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck inside and out, washing off excess concrete.
• Be ready at the designated start time at the job site.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license, Class B or higher.
• Current DOT physical card.
• Submit to drug screening and background check.
• Maintain professionalism with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public.
• Adhere strictly to Pennsy Supply Safety Manual and policies.
• Willingness to work in a team and assist with other duties as needed.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
