Position Overview

The Ready-Mix Concrete Driver is responsible for transporting ready-mix concrete to construction sites and customers, requiring safe and efficient operation of concrete trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prioritize safety and maintain high standards of quality.
2. Safely ingress and egress trucks, navigating steps with grab bars.
3. Operate truck controls, including steering, shifter, and levers.
4. Deliver concrete as specified, obeying laws and dispatch instructions.
5. Communicate with dispatch regarding deliveries and check tickets for instructions.
6. Climb ladders to load materials safely and obtain signatures.
7. Handle mixer chutes and dump slurry following procedures.
8. Address customer questions and complaints about products and procedures.
9. Monitor gauges during vehicle operation.
10. Maintain logs and records per company policy and DOT regulations.
11. Report issues and repairs to maintenance.
12. Keep work area and vehicle clean and orderly.
13. Ensure product quality before leaving the plant and en route.
14. Maintain cleanliness of the truck to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
15. Be punctual and ready at the designated start time.
16. Willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class B or better commercial driver's license.
• Current DOT physical card.
• Pass drug screening and background check.
• Maintain professionalism with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
• Adhere strictly to safety manual and company policies.
• Willingness to work in a team and assist with other duties.
