Job summary

Ampact operates Reading Corps, a nationwide tutoring program that helps students become stronger readers. As a Reading Tutor, you’ll receive thorough training and coaching to deliver proven activities in schools.

Each school day includes 20 minutes of reading practice with pairs of students, followed by classroom transitions and prep for the next pair. This role supports student growth and community partnership.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance and reliability.
• Able to follow instructions and implement feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18 years or older with a HS diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
• Track student progress and meet with onsite coach regularly.
• Record student scores in data software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
