Job summary

Reading Truck Body in Reading, PA is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a production team, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate daily operations, assign work, and optimize staffing to maximize efficiency while fostering a culture of accountability.

You'll train and coach team members, manage performance, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement to meet customer expectations and cost targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years leading an hourly skilled trade workforce.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and strong communication skills; willingness to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a production team to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Oversee daily production activities and staffing for optimal efficiency.
• Promote a safety-first culture and address hazards proactively.
• Coach and develop team members to improve performance and accountability.
• Maintain production schedules and ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
• Monitor KPIs and report on attendance and performance metrics.
• Support interviewing and onboarding of hourly production staff.
• Provide operational support to meet business goals.

• Production Management: Coordinate daily operations, assign work, and optimize staffing to maximize efficiency.
• Training & Development: Provide hands-on training and guidance to strengthen team skills and performance.
• Quality & Delivery: Maintain quality standards and production schedules to meet customer expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, maintain production boards, track attendance, and complete required reporting and evaluations.
• Team Building: Support the interviewing and selection of hourly production team members.
• Operational Support: Perform additional duties to support team and business goals

What You Bring to the Table:

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: Minimum of (3) years prior experience leading an hourly skilled trade workforce
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
