Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a Title 1 Reading Teacher for NorthStar School of Innovation & Leadership in Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on delivering differentiated reading instruction, using data to guide planning, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

You will collaborate with staff and engage families to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth, while maintaining detailed progress records and employing research-based practices throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Experience in growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to supervise students in different school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working in an urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with ability to modify during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Utilize curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology into daily classroom practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in non-instructional planning.
