Job summary

ROCKFORD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT #205 is seeking a Reading Teacher 6-8 (0.2 FTE) to support literacy across grades 6-8. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging instruction, use inquiry-based methods, and leverage diverse materials to meet a wide range of student needs.

Qualified candidates will hold an Illinois Teaching License with endorsements, and participate in PLCs, data-driven planning, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with all school stakeholders
• Ability to develop relationships with students and parents
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and assessment practices
• Working knowledge of State/National Standards
• Organize and maintain student records (gradebooks)

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning
• Engage students in inquiry-based delivery of instruction
• Provide varied learning materials and resources for educational activities
• Use diverse instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse needs
• Communicate student progress and needs to students, parents and colleagues
• Participate in PLCs and data-driven instruction
