Job summary

ROCKFORD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT #205 is seeking a Language Arts Teacher for grades 6-8 (0.8 FTE). The teacher will implement inquiry-based instruction, differentiate lessons, and use a variety of materials to engage diverse learners.

The role requires an Illinois teaching license with appropriate endorsements. Strong collaboration with PLCs and ongoing professional development are expected to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois teaching license with endorsements relevant to Language Arts.
• Experience creating and delivering Language Arts instruction for grades 6-8.
• Ability to implement inquiry-based and differentiated instructional strategies.
• Familiarity with district standards and assessment practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Engage students in an inquiry-based delivery model of instruction.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Use a range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse student needs.
• Update and maintain accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Create and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.
• Maintain discipline per school code of conduct.
• Communicate progress to students, parents and colleagues.
