Job summary

The Pinnacle School is seeking a Reading Specialist to help students with language-based learning differences develop literacy skills and confidence. You will deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction within a collaborative team of educators and specialists to support each learner's growth toward academic goals.

You'll monitor progress, contribute to IEP planning, and maintain thorough records while creating engaging lessons tailored to each student's strengths and needs in a supportive

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with CT 102 Remedial Reading/Remedial Language Arts certification or licensure eligibility.
• Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or similar structured multi-sensory literacy approaches.
• Minimum of two years of experience with students with special education needs and language-based learning differences.
• Experience with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and educational data collection.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a commitment to helping all learners succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional practices.
• Monitor progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction toward IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school districts to coordinate support.
• Develop engaging lessons addressing each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning profile.
• Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and support a positive learning environment.
