Job summary
The Help Group is seeking a Reading Specialist to deliver specialized instruction and supervise reading intervention staff across elementary to high school levels at our Valley Glen locations. You will work closely with students, families, and school teams to develop and implement evidence-based literacy strategies that improve decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Reading, or a related field.
- State certification or licensure as a Reading Specialist or Reading Teacher (if applicable).
- Strong knowledge of literacy development, reading assessment, and instructional strategies.
- Experience in administering and interpreting reading assessments.
- Familiarity with evidence-based reading intervention programs and resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with reading difficulties.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and literacy.
- Supervise Reading intervention staff and collaborate with teachers on Reading Instruction.
- Select and implement Reading Lab curriculum and train staff.
- Conduct comprehensive reading assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Design individualized reading instruction and evidence-based interventions.
- Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data.
- Collaborate with school staff on literacy initiatives and accommodations.
- Attend professional development to stay current in literacy practices.
- Communicate with parents about progress and strategies quarterly.
- Maintain records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports.
- Support IEP goals and Reading PLPs in collaboration with Case Manager.
