Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and licensure in Special Education (Moderate Disabilities PreK-8) are required.
• Experience teaching reading is required.
• Collaboration with the classroom teacher and classroom supervisor is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare multi-sensory, individualized reading instruction (phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension).
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to support emotional, behavioral, and educational development.
• Write thorough IEP goals/objectives and quarterly reports reflecting student progress.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and effectively manage small- and large-group instruction.
• Participate in required meetings and communicate with families and the team.
