• $100,000 annual salary, paid weekly

• On-site placement at one Alpha campus: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
• 40-hour work week, 100% classroom-based with K-2 students

You are proficient in structured literacy: Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or hold a Master's in reading instruction. You can detect a student's error, pinpoint the phonemic breakdown, and build a phonics lesson independently of any scripted curriculum. That's baseline. It's not what sets you apart.

Your reading credentials open the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 group for a 20‑minute workshop is what earns you the role.

Alpha has dismantled conventional teaching. Students work through academic content individually on AI‑adaptive platforms, with no lectures, textbooks, or predetermined pacing. You create small‑group reading workshops using live performance data and lead motivational sessions that inspire students to reach their weekly app targets through school currency, leaderboards, and developmentally appropriate gamification.

Your initial months focus on building rapport. Workshops need to be engaging, differentiated, and demonstrably impactful. Student satisfaction and "love your Guide" feedback measure this explicitly. As you establish success, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI‑generated data to refine instruction, documenting fluency and decoding progress, and influencing Alpha's K‑2 reading strategy as adaptive technology advances.

Before an offer is extended, you'll submit a short video sharing a captivating story for young children and complete a full day on campus working directly with K‑2 students. Low energy with children is disqualifying, regardless of credential strength.

What You Will Be Doing

• Creating and facilitating small-group K‑2 reading workshops rooted in structured‑literacy principles (Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or comparable), informed by actual student data
• Conducting daily motivational sessions that ensure 100% of your students achieve their weekly adaptive‑app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, developmentally appropriate gamification)
• Administering and evaluating running records, fluency assessments, and decoding measures to monitor progress and modify upcoming instruction
• Analyzing AI‑generated performance data from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to individualize instruction dynamically, not only during advance planning
• Serving as the approachable, enthusiastic adult your K‑2 students are excited to see daily

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Implementing a published reading curriculum, scripted program, or district pacing calendar; you create your own lessons based on student data
• Delivering whole‑class lectures; all teaching occurs in small, targeted groups while students engage with academic subjects through adaptive apps
• Serving as a reading consultant, teacher coach, or district‑level specialist; you work in the classroom with children every day
• Managing a conventional classroom schedule — subject‑by‑subject lectures, homework correction, test preparation; your time is allocated to workshops, motivational sessions, and data‑informed small groups instead
• Evaluating homework or issuing report cards; student advancement is tracked through app data and your running records

Reading Program Coordinator Key Responsibilities

Provide structured-literacy instruction that produces measurable acceleration in K‑2 reading outcomes across phonics, fluency, and decoding.

Basic Requirements

• Structured‑literacy certification (Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson Reading System, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) OR a Master's degree in reading instruction
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, plus 2+ years of full-time K‑2 structured reading instruction within the past 5 years in a school or clinical environment, utilizing systematic phonics or structured literacy
• Proven capacity to create your own reading lessons and clearly articulate what you teach and how, independent of a published program
• Proven capacity to assess reading progress and describe specific student improvements in areas such as fluency, accuracy, phonics, or decoding
• Willingness to work on‑site full‑time at one Alpha campus: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
• Willingness to work with all K‑2 students (not exclusively struggling readers) and to incorporate AI and adaptive‑learning tools into daily instruction
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Nice‑to‑have Requirements

• Direct experience with AI‑powered or adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i‑Ready, Reading Plus) for instructional planning or student data interpretation
• Experience in non‑traditional or innovative school environments (charter, micro‑school, Montessori, hybrid)
• Experience in performing, coaching youth sports, or otherwise engaging a K‑2 audience beyond the reading classroom
