Position Purpose

The Reading/Math Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic support and evidence-based interventions to elementary students in grades K-5 who require additional assistance in reading and/or mathematics. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to improve student achievement and help students meet grade-level standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction and Intervention
  • Provide supplemental reading and mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups.
  • Plan and implement research-based intervention programs aligned with district curriculum and Wyoming content standards.
  • Utilize assessment data to identify students needing intervention services and to monitor student progress.
  • Adjust instructional practices based on ongoing student performance and data analysis.
  • Support students in developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
Assessment and Data Management
  • Administer screening, diagnostic, progress-monitoring, and benchmark assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention services.
  • Analyze data to determine intervention effectiveness and recommend instructional adjustments.
  • Participate in student support team meetings and contribute data-driven recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to coordinate interventions and support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and intervention goals.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, counselors, instructional coaches, and administrators to support the academic needs of students.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings as required.
  • Uphold district policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
Qualifications
Required
  • Current and valid Wyoming Teaching License.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Eligibility to teach elementary-aged students in Wyoming.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of literacy and mathematics instructional practices for elementary students.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze assessment data and implement targeted interventions.
Preferred
  • Endorsement in Elementary Education, Reading, Literacy, Mathematics, or a related area.
  • Experience providing intervention services in a K-5 setting.
  • Training in evidence-based reading and math intervention programs.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to supervise and interact with students in classroom and school settings.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift instructional materials as needed.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring regular use of educational technology.
Terms of Employment
  • Second semester of the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Salary and benefits in accordance with district policies and the applicable salary schedule.
