The Meadows Center for Preventing Education Risk at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking reading interventionists to support elementary students in Hutto ISD, delivering small-group reading instruction using MCPER lesson plans. Training starts Oct with intervention beginning in Nov; positions run through May with up to 19 hours/week.

• Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and a team player.
• Strong English language proficiency.
• Must have a reliable vehicle for travel to schools and be willing to travel to Hutto ISD.
• This is a security sensitive position—a criminal background check will be required for all reading interventionists.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Teach students to help them improve their word reading and reading comprehension skills.
• Travel to Hutto ISD schools.
• Receive training on providing high-quality instruction using lesson plans developed by the MCPER research team(4 paid training dates in mid-October).
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
