Job summary

Freedom Academy is seeking a passionate Reading Interventionist to deliver targeted literacy instruction for K–8 students who need extra support. The role emphasizes explicit, systematic instruction and regular progress monitoring to drive growth in reading, fluency, and comprehension.

Collaboration with teachers, SPED staff, ELL staff, and school leadership is essential to identify needs, monitor progress, and strengthen literacy outcomes across the school.

Qualifications

  • Targeted small-group reading intervention for students in grades K–8.
  • Explicit, systematic literacy instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
  • Use assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify student needs, measure growth, and adjust instruction.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, Special Education staff, English Learner staff, and school leadership.
  • Participate in MTSS/RTI meetings and contribute to intervention planning, documentation, and student support decisions.
  • Support school-wide literacy initiatives while helping students develop confidence, persistence, and a genuine love of reading.
