Perry Street Prep Public Charter School is recruiting a Reading Interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year. We are making a significant investment in literacy, with supporting educators across the school with evidence‑based instructional practices grounded in the science of reading. The Reading Interventionist will play a central role in that work, providing targeted, evidence‑based instruction to students in grades 3–8 through small‑group literacy labs of 4–12 students to accelerate reading and writing development.
The Reading Specialist designs and creates intervention plans aligned with regular classroom literacy objectives and tailored to each child or small group. The Reading Intervenionist utilizes evidence‑based intervention curricula (LLI, Wilson Reading, Fundations, CKLA, etc) to deliver instruction and frequent assessment (Fountas & Pinell, NWEA MAP, and running records) to inform planning. The Reading Interventionist monitors student progress and adjusts instruction as needed to increase student achievement in English Language Arts.
