Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Certified to teach in the state where the center is located.
• One year teaching with disadvantaged youth preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification must be obtained and maintained.
• Knowledge of the required subject area.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Helps students achieve improved standardized testing scores in reading.
• Establishes rapport and promotes a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Maintains accountability within the classroom to maximize learning.
• Documents attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in program guidelines.
• Delivers instruction using provided curriculum resources and updates curriculum as needed.
• Tracks student performance and assists with goal setting.
• Maintains classroom cleanliness and appropriate dress/behavior standards.
• Creates positive working relationships with coworkers and reports deficiencies to manager.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
