Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking an educator in Texas to deliver reading-focused instruction and build rapport with disadvantaged youth. The role emphasizes a positive classroom atmosphere and accountability to maximize learning outcomes.

You will utilize provided curricula, document attendance and progress, report deficiencies, and help students set achievable goals. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and a Bachelor's degree is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certified to teach in the state where the center is located.
• One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth preferred.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge of the required subject area.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers instruction using provided curriculum resources and develops new/updated curriculum as needed.
• Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport and creates a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Maintains accountability within the classroom to support maximum learning.
• Documents student attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in program records.
• Reports deficiencies to manager and takes appropriate action.
• Holds students accountable for dress code and behavioral standards of conduct.
• Tracks student performance and assists in setting short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals.
• Maintains adequate classroom preparation and cleanliness.
• Relates to the student population and recognizes student success.
• Adheres to data integrity measures related to instruction and testing.
• Fosters positive working relationships with co-workers.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Effectively relates to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom
• Adheres to all data integrity measures related to classroom instruction and testing
