Job Description
- Helps students achieve improved standardized testing scores in reading
- Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport and creates a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to promote student motivation
- Maintains a high degree of accountability within the classroom setting to allow for maximum learning
- Documents student attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in a timely manner and within program guidelines
- Reports any deficiencies to manager
- Delivers instruction using provided curriculum resources and develop new/updated curriculum as needed
- Integrates applied academic activities into classroom curriculum
- Holds students accountable for following Center's dress code/behavioral standards of conduct
- Responsible for adequate classroom preparation
- Responsible to track student performance and achievement, and assist students in setting short, intermediate, and long-term goals
- Maintains adequate classroom cleanliness
- Effectively relates to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom
- Adheres to all data integrity measures related to classroom instruction and testing
- Creates and sustains positive working relationships with co-workers
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified to teach in the state in which the center is located
- One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth preferred
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of required subject area
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills
Compensation
$64,000-$64,000 per year
