Nimble is seeking a Reading Instructional Assistant to support literacy initiatives alongside classroom teachers and a building literacy coach. The role centers on delivering small-group reading instruction and targeted interventions throughout the school day.

It supports MTSS, collaborates with teachers, and helps prepare materials while fostering a productive learning environment for elementary students. The position is 180 days with a classified benefits package and district pay schedule.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide small-group reading instruction and intervention under the direction of classroom teachers and the literacy coach.
• Assist in implementing reading intervention plans, instructional activities, and guided practice.
• Support students in building literacy skills, fluency, and problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborate with teachers and literacy staff to support daily instruction.
• Prepare instructional materials and resources for reading lessons and interventions.
• Monitor student progress and communicate needs to teachers/coaches.
• Maintain accurate records and follow schedules; participate in professional development as required.

Position Summary

The Reading Instructional Assistant supports high-quality literacy instruction by assisting classroom teachers and the building literacy coach in delivering small-group instruction and reading interventions throughout the school day. This role plays an important part in supporting the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by helping meet the academic needs of students across grade levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
• Strong reading skills and confidence supporting literacy instruction.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support

• Provide small-group reading instruction and intervention under the direction of classroom teachers and the literacy coach.
• Assist in implementing reading intervention plans, instructional activities, and guided practice.
• Support students in building literacy skills, fluency, and problem-solving abilities.

Classroom Assistance & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, building reading teachers, and the building literacy coach to support daily instruction.
• Reinforce reading lessons introduced by the teacher through additional practice and guided instruction.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources for reading lessons and intervention groups.
• Support teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment that fosters student engagement.

Student Support

• Monitor student progress during instruction and inform teachers/coaches of student needs or concerns.
• Provide encouragement, redirection, and support to maintain student engagement and success.
• Support positive classroom behavior consistent with school and district expectations.

Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and follow assigned schedules.
• Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
• Participate in professional development related to math supports and intervention strategies as required.
• Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to a collaborative school environment.

Terms of Employment

• 180-day classified position aligned with the district calendar.
