Job summary

Quality Service Recruitment Limited is seeking caring individuals for a care assistant role at a purpose-built home for residents with dementia and elderly illnesses. You will join the care team, support personal care, comfort and dignity, and follow care plans to meet individual needs.

Shifts include nights with additional hours on request. A DBS check within 6 months and mandatory safeguarding, infection control, moving and handling, and health & safety training are required, with up to 28

Are you looking for an extra income to pay for those extra special Christmas gifts? If you answered yes then this role is for you.

This purpose-built care home caters for up to 40 residents with Dementia related Illnesses and Illnesses associated with the Elderly. You will be expected to hit the ground running and fit into the existing Care Team. You will also be required to perform general housekeeping duties such as laundry and keeping up with the regular checks on residents and documenting accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with their personal care, ensuring their comfort and hygiene needs are maintained, ensuring the dignity of all residents.
• Follow individualised care plans precisely to meet the residents unique physical and emotional needs.
• Complete logs, reporting accurately. If any issues are raised report to the person in charge as soon as possible.
• Work effectively and professionally alongside the existing care team to assist them to enhance their resident’s lives.

What We Are Looking For:

• At least three months experience in a residential setting is essential.
• An empathetic, patient, and highly motivated attitude towards caring for the Elderly.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and situations with empathy.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing your workload.

For this role, you must have;

• A minimum of 3 months experience in a Care environment
• A DBS dated within the last 6 months, registered on the update service or the facility to pay for one upfront at the cost of £49.50.
• All relevant mandatory training in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Infection Control, Moving and Handling and Health and Safety, ideally with the certificates dated within the last 6 months, or we can assist you to access online training platforms.
• Referenceable work history covering the past 2 years

Shift times are:-

• Nights – 2000 to 0800
• Other shifts are available on request, depending on requirements.

Rates of pay are £13.25 per hour. You will also accrue up to 28 days paid holiday per year.
