The sign of a good business is how they treat staff and that is the case with this 5* housebuilder who’re looking to add an Architectural Technician to their Technical team in the Chester/N.Wales area. Over the last 18 months, there’s been numerous internal promotions that has seen many long-standing staff stepping up to Senior positions. And that could be the case with this Architectural Technician role – although they’ll look at someone with the experience they really aiming towards someone abit more junior, maybe with a couple of years experience in the housebuild field, and someone looking to progress their career with the support and training from experienced Technical and Design employees who’ll help you through the start of your housebuild career.

The Technical Director has told me that if you’ve got a couple of years’ experience, especially in housetypes, then they’d like to speak to you. He told me it could be an ideal opportunity for you to join as they’ve various new sites due to start, some with timber frame they’ve never done before, so you could put a real stamp on the types of units they build in future. Layouts and planning are handled elsewhere.

They’ve got a lot on this year – “we’re in a very stable position and it looks very positive for the rest of 2026” said their HR Director – with several sites coming online in the Cheshire and North Wales area and with the business in a top spot compared to other housebuilders out there. They have a five-year plan to get up to around 650 units and you’d join the business by working on various new and existing sites with the support from the Design Manager and Technical Director.

Salary banding they’re keeping ‘competitive’ at the moment – it’ll really depend on where you’ve been before, what you’ve done, what you can bring to the business. But what they do offer is a fully comprehensive package including bonus, car allowance and a raft of benefits
