Job summary

Principal Teachers Ltd. is seeking an experienced Reception/Year 1 teacher to cover a maternity leave in a small village primary school in the Nidderdale area. The role combines Reception and Year 1 with about 18 pupils, starting 2 November 2026 through 22 October 2027.

The post offers long-term supply continuity with support from a GTA and SEN GTA. Experience delivering Little Wandle phonics is highly desirable, and PT provides competitive daily rates and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a mixed Reception/Year 1 class.
• Ability to work with a GTA and SEN GTA in-class setting.
• DBS update service or DBS within last 12 months accepted.

Responsibilities

Reception/Year 1 Teacher – Maternity Cover

We are looking for an experienced and committed teacher to cover a maternity leave position in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.

Small village primary school in the Nidderdale area - 2nd November 2026 to 22nd October 2027

The role:

• Mixed Reception/Year 1 class (currently 18 pupils)
• Supported by a GTA and an SEN GTA within the classroom
• School uses Little Wandle, so experience delivering Little Wandle phonics would be highly desirable
• This will be a long-term supply position for the full academic year, offering excellent continuity and stability.
