Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Limited in the North London area is seeking Assistant Validation Technicians to be trained to locate water leaks on underground water networks. The role offers training, night shifts of 4x10 hours Monday-Thursday, and an entry path into the water industry.

• Conduct boundary valve investigations/proving.
• Perform utility tracing.
• Capture and monitor pressure and flow data.

Job description

The Assistant Validation Technicians will be trained to find water leaks on the underground water networks within the North London Area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get into the water Industry for the right candidate – Some leakage experience would be advantageous but an eagerness to learn would be paramount.

Working 4 x 10hr night shifts – Monday-Thursday

To gain knowledge/understanding of the following responsibilities:

• Interpret and understand water network schematics and plans
• Water Network and distribution, Hydraulics
• To understand and carryout PZT/ZPT
• Flow Testing Meters – 5,10,15 flow rates
• Boundary Valve investigations/proving
• Utility tracing
• Knowledge and experience of Pressure/Flow monitoring

Person specification

• To have the intellect and ability to quickly learn new theories, techniques and working methods associated with duties and tasks
• The ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills to enable effective communication with internal and external colleagues.
• Knowledge and experience of flow data capture techniques and methods
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Able to work well under pressure and to conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and high levels of standards
• Team player, flexible, co-operative attitude to working and giving and receiving help
