Get Staffed Online Recruitment Limited is assisting a growing tool and plant hire company in recruiting for a depot operative at their new site in Bingham. The role combines customer service, equipment preparation and testing, and delivery/collection duties.

Job description

Our client is a growing tool and plant hire company, and they are looking for a motivated person to join their team at their new site at Bingham - they are currently at NG2 4DS Nottingham depot until Autumn 2026.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service, equipment preparation and testing, and delivery and collection duties. You'll be an important part of their day-to-day operations, ensuring their customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service.

They are happy to consider applications from candidates looking for either

full-time or part-time hours.

Previous experience within the tool or plant hire industry is an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering and collecting hire equipment when required.
• Serving customers at the hire counter and providing excellent customer service.
• Preparing equipment ready for hire.
• Carrying out pre-hire and post-hire inspections and testing.
• Cleaning, maintaining and checking hire equipment.
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the depot.
• Ensuring all equipment is maintained to company health and safety standards.

About You

They're looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable using computers.
• Keen to learn and develop within the hire industry.
• Clean Full UK driving licence.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Mechanical aptitude or an interest in tools and equipment.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous customer service or trade counter experience.
• Experience within the tool hire, plant hire or construction industry.
• Experience using hire management software.

Hours

Full-time:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am - 4:30pm
• 42.5 hours per week

Part-time:

• Flexible hours available (to be agreed)
• Monday to Friday
• Ideal for candidates looking for reduced hours
