Sherwin-Williams in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a manufacturing/chemical operations professional to manufacture batches per procedures, operate forklifts, and monitor quality through visual inspections and QC testing. You will follow plant procedures, participate in safety and quality programs, and support process control systems.

The role emphasizes compliance with EH&S guidelines, documentation of batch processing steps, and coordination with maintenance and production teams to ensure smooth

Formación

  • Must be 18+ years old

  • Record downtime and reasons in the process control system

  • Program label and ink jet printers
  • Perform housekeeping and related duties as needed

Job Description

Manufacture batches per instructions. Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts. Monitor batches through visual inspection and react appropriately to that inspection. Manufacture batches using Process Control Computer System. Follow all written plant procedures. Participate in plant safety, waste and quality programs.

Schedule: Shift 2 Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm

  • This position is also eligible for a bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Responsibilities
  • Chemical batch processing. Charge batches, monitor processing, document progress on cooklogs and other forms, perform in-process and final QC testing, filter and transfer batches to storage or drumming/totting operations
  • Operate material handling equipment including fork trucks
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute work instructions and written procedures
  • Complete takt time documentation and enter reason codes for downtime in process control system
  • Follow all E,H&S regulations and guidelines
  • Actively participate in SMART and other safety programs
  • Program label and ink jet printers
  • Perform and participate in general housekeeping activities
  • Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot simple equipment problems
  • Must have experience with prestage raw materials and verify raw material codes before use
  • Must have experience with Batch Tracking functions
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have a Associates degree or two (2) year technical degree in chemical operations
