Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking dedicated substitutes to support classrooms across partner schools in California. Roles include supervising students, maintaining safe, respectful environments, and following lesson plans provided by teachers.

Your dedicated Scoot Education consultant will help match assignments to your skills and interests and offer ongoing training opportunities. As a W-2 employee you will receive weekly pay via direct deposit and have access to paid training, background-check

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment with student engagement.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions following lesson plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.

Many of our consultants have previous teaching experience and will share best practices and offer practical advice. They are just a phone call away for any questions or concerns.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.
