This role will guide mobile engineering across iOS and Android, own technical quality, and work closely with product, architecture, backend, QA, DevOps, security, and production support teams.
The successful candidate will combine strong React Native development skills with practical leadership and experience supporting a high-volume customer application.
Provide technical leadership for the React Native application while remaining actively involved in design, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and release readiness.
Own the mobile technical roadmap, architecture decisions, coding standards, reusable components, dependency management, and reduction of technical debt.
Lead production support for customer-impacting mobile issues, including triage, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention of repeat incidents.
Improve application reliability, startup time, responsiveness, crash-free sessions, network efficiency, memory usage, battery consumption, and overall customer experience.
Partner with product and UX teams to convert business requirements and designs into secure, accessible, testable, and maintainable mobile capabilities.
Guide integration with backend APIs and customer platforms supporting authentication, loyalty, menu and ordering, payments, promotions, delivery, analytics, messaging, and notifications.
Work with backend, cloud, DevOps, QA, security, and observability teams to diagnose cross-platform issues and validate end-to-end behavior across environments.
Strengthen automated testing across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end layers and ensure that critical ordering and payment journeys are protected from regression.
Manage mobile release engineering, including build configuration, signing, environment management, feature flags, phased rollout, rollback planning, and App Store and Google Play submissions.
Mentor mobile engineers across onshore and offshore teams, provide clear technical direction, and improve engineering discipline through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Deep understanding of React fundamentals, hooks, component design, navigation, state management, asynchronous programming, and mobile application lifecycle behavior.
Experience with current React Native architecture and tooling, including native modules, bridging or TurboModules, Hermes, Metro, Gradle, Xcode, and package dependency management.
Experience integrating RESTful APIs, secure authentication, token management, deep links, push notifications, analytics SDKs, payment SDKs, and third‑party mobile services.
Strong understanding of mobile security, including secure storage, certificate handling, secrets management, data protection, OWASP mobile risks, and safe logging practices.
Experience with test frameworks and tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, Appium, XCTest, or Espresso.
Experience with CI and CD pipelines for mobile applications, automated builds, code quality checks, release signing, App Store Connect, and Google Play Console.
Experience with application monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Datadog, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, Quantum Metric, or equivalent platforms.
Ability to analyze logs, traces, crashes, API failures, device‑specific behavior, and customer session evidence to isolate complex production problems.
Translate business priorities into a practical mobile delivery plan and clearly communicate technical risks, options, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
Lead technical estimation, solution reviews, release planning, defect prioritization, and production‑readiness assessments.
Set clear quality expectations and ensure the team follows agreed architecture, coding, testing, security, and documentation practices
Coordinate effectively across distributed teams and vendors, particularly during critical releases, promotions, incidents, and hypercare periods.
Take ownership of outcomes and drive issues to resolution while keeping product and technology stakeholders informed.
Eight or more years of software engineering experience, including at least five years in mobile application development.
Three or more years of strong hands‑on React Native experience supporting applications used by external customers.
Two or more years in a technical lead or senior engineering lead role with responsibility for design decisions, code quality, mentoring, and production support.
Proven experience releasing and operating mobile applications at scale across both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or comparable practical experience.
Experience with restaurant, retail, ecommerce, hospitality, or other high‑volume consumer digital platforms.
Understanding of quick‑service restaurant journeys such as store selection, menu configuration, cart, checkout, loyalty, offers, payment, order tracking, and delivery.
Experience with AWS‑hosted APIs and services and with diagnosing mobile‑to‑cloud performance and reliability issues.
Experience designing graceful failure handling, offline or degraded‑mode behavior, retry strategies, caching, and resiliency for third‑party dependencies.
Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards and practical experience validating applications with screen readers and accessibility test tools.
Experience using AI‑assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot while maintaining code‑review, security, and quality controls onshore technical lead for TSC Kiosk project.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $51.78/hour - $80.90/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
