Job summary

Michaels is seeking a Material Handler - Equipment Operator to support our Distribution Center operations, loading and unloading inventory and using reach trucks/order pickers to fulfill inbound and outbound freight.

The role requires basic computer skills, 2–4 years of related experience, and HS diploma or equivalent. You will perform inspections, document logs, and collaborate in a fast-paced warehouse setting with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload inventory using manual and/or powered equipment.

• Perform various DC duties such as Receiving, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm fulfillment.
• Other duties as assigned in the DC environment.

DC-AllianceThe Material Handler - Equipment Operator may fulfill multiple roles in the Distribution Center environment to help fulfill overall mission to process Inbound and/or Outbound freight accurately, timely, and safely.**Major Activities*** Utilizes manual and/or powered industrial equipment to load and unload inventory.* Utilizes material handling equipment (reach truck and/or order picker/cherry picker) to fulfill shipping and receiving orders.* Completes periodic safety training on the operation of machinery.* Performs routine inspections of equipment and notifies leader of maintenance needs.* May perform one or more of a variety of functions in a Distribution Center environment associated with fulfilling orders for retail stores and/or other Distribution Centers.
