Job summary

Novolex in Temple, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a large production team and drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.

You will supervise 70+ employees, schedule and monitor production performance, manage hiring and training, and implement best practices across operations.

This role requires strong leadership, proficiency with MS Office, and ability to collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other departments to meet targets.

Qualifications

• 5 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in statistical methods and process improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily operations within the production department to meet production targets, ensure safety, and deliver quality that meets customer specifications.
• Supervise a team of 70+ employees, including both salaried and hourly personnel.
• Schedule, track, and monitor production performance and costs to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
• Maintain an effective workforce by managing hiring, training, coaching, and corrective actions.
• Implement best practices and enforce consistent company policies and procedures.
• Complete and maintain timely, accurate reports on key production metrics such as efficiency, downtime, and cost.
• Provide performance feedback to team members and communicate results both up and down the organization.
• Develop and lead safety awareness programs, communicate safety concerns, and conduct or lead investigations into safety incidents.
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process design and implementation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other departments to ensure alignment and success.

Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a large production team to ensure achievement of safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals. Candidate Requirements:

• Prefer bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in statistical methods and process improvement techniques.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—across all levels of the organization.
• Effective team building and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a large and diverse team.
• Ability to speak and read Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies as a member of the emergency response team.
