About the Role

ByteDance Networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software‑defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co‑design, and high‑speed networking to create hyperscale data‑center networking solutions that power popular applications such as Douyin and TikTok, which serve hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

In this role you will be part of a team responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet requirements of high availability, scalability, and high performance. Opportunities for a graduate include marketable software development and network operation experience at massive scale.

Position Details: The role is scheduled for 2026. Successful candidates must be able to commit from January 5, 2026 to December 14, 2026. Responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑speed network technologies for ByteDance.
• Build software and tools to improve the reliability and availability of high‑speed network infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Graduating or recent graduate with a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language such as C/C++, Python, or Go.
• Passion for high‑speed IP networking, hardware‑software interaction, and hardware offloading technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with RDMA/RoCE network protocol.
• Experience developing software systems for large‑scale data center networks or distributed systems.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position in the selected city is $148,200–$300,960. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
