Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping
• Provide information and answer patient questions
• Maintain instrumentation, sterilize, and select appropriate tools
• Evaluate oral health to select materials and procedures
• Perform prophylaxis by cleaning teeth and beneath gum margins
• Detect disease with screenings, examinations, and radiographs
• Prevent decay with fluoride and other agents

Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in KY
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
